Central Region NDC throws support for Dr Ato Forson on his new appointment

Twenty-Three Central regional chairmen of the national democratic congress (NDC) led by the regional chairman have shown their appreciation to the leadership of the party for appointing Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as the Minority Leader in Parliament.
Addressing a press conference at the regional party office in cape coast led by Regional Chairman Prof. Richard Kofi Aseidu explain that, the entire chairmen of the party in the region endorsed Dr. Ato Forson’s appointment.
Chairman Kofi Aseidu stated that per their checks Dr. Ato Forson is currently the longest-sitting MP from the Central Region and through his leadership qualities increased votes for the NDC in the 2020 election and further believed that, he will do more to win more seats in 2024 election for the party.
“On behalf of the leadership and the entire membership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region, we, the Regional Chairman, the Regional Vice-Chairmen, and the 23 Constituency Chairmen of our great party would like to seize this opportunity to congratulate Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson for his appointment as the Leader of the Minority Caucus in Parliament.
Prof. Richard Kofi Aseidu noted that the entire NDC fraternity in the region is highly elated to hear of the appointment of Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the illustrious son of the Central Region to lead the Minority Caucus of the Eighth (8th) Parliament of Ghana’s Fourth (4th) Republic.
You have exhibited your competence when given the opportunity as the Ranking Member of the Finance Committee. Having successfully carried yourself by hard work and pursuing your parliamentary duties with perseverance and purpose, we have no doubt on our minds that you will live up to the expectations, he added.
The regional leadership also seized the opportunity to congratulate Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah and Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza for their appointments as Deputy Minority Leader and Minority Chief Whip respectively and also congratulated Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim and Hon. Comfort Doyo Ghansah for their reapportionment as the 1st and 2nd Deputy Chief Whips.
The Central Regional Leadership of the NDC however used the opportunity to plead with the entire Members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament to give their support and entrust confidence in the leadership of Dr. Ato Forson.
We must all understand that leadership evolves. Leaders will come and go but the Caucus must not be divided. Let us all give the maximum support and rally around the new leaders to deliver as we did for our previous leadership, he stressed.
The party in the Central region further pledged their unalloyed and unflinching support to the Leadership of the Minority Caucus led by Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson.
Dr. Ato Forson is the longest-serving Member of Parliament on the NDC’s ticket in the Central Region. He first entered the Parliament House on the 7th of January 2009 to represent the good people of Ajumako Enyan Essiem Constituency and he has since remained their Member of Parliament.
He is the only Member of Parliament on the ticket of the NDC in the Central Region who has gone beyond the third term this is according to the central regional chairman of the party. In actual fact, with Dr. Ato Forson as the Minority Leader, the Leadership of Central Region NDC is confident of winning twenty (20) parliamentary seats and over 60% presidential votes.
Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson is a modern leader fit for this era, and the NDC in Parliament is better off with his leadership, considering the roles he has played in the Executive, Legislature, and the party, Dr. Kofi Aseidu intimated.
He further urged him and his team to stay focused and committed to the purpose.
