The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Adentan Constituency and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Akosua Asaa Manu, has said that the NPP is the only party that has kept to its campaign promises.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show with Roselyn Felli, she asserted that regardless of the party’s delay in meeting their initial delivery timelines, they execute their policies as promised.
This is the reason she has always advocated for the NPP, come rain or shine.
“Choosing the right leader has its consequences. That’s why I always champion the NPP because we’re the only political party that has stuck to its manifesto promises no matter what is said and done.
Despite the lack when it comes to not meeting certain timelines as far as our promises are concerned, we delivered the major things we spoke of, and most of those things impacted women directly,” she averred.
As a woman advocate, Mrs. Manu has always supported women facing challenges in their marriages and children’s upbringing in many ways, including finances.
For this reason, the government’s free SHS policy became a game-changer for most families as it reduced the cost of enrolling their children in school.
“There are women who are single mothers; in fact, some are married but are still single mothers because they take up a lot of the responsibilities, and we’re conditioned not to complain about our relationships or whatnot.
“So, when people are going through struggles, they can’t tell anybody about it, especially when it’s financial, because if your partner is not supporting you, going to talk about it means you’ve brought shame to him. So, something like Free SHS was a game-changer for a lot of households.”
Her passion for children’s education led the parliamentary candidate to partner with several groups to provide adequate education for the children in her constituency.
Mrs. Manu’s ultimate goal is to ensure that all private and public schools in the Adentan community experience and enjoy an equal-quality educational system.
She has intervened for her community by constructing the popular container road in the area and other bridges to help children go to their respective schools, which she says has impacted people’s lives.
The parliamentary candidate added that people’s commendations regarding her effort motivated her to venture into politics so she could do more to help her constituents
