MCE ASSURES CAPE COASTERS OF PROGRESS ON THE CAPE COAST DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

During a political program on Kastle FM, the Metropolitan Chief Executive [MCE] of Cape Coast spoke about the city’s development plan.

He said that projects to residents are being implemented including the new classroom blocks, toilet facilities, mechanized boreholes, youth employment and others.

The MCE further explained that the necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the successful completion of these projects.

Key areas noted for these projects are the construction of classroom blocks both in Cape Coast South and North.

Some areas he mentioned were Abubonko, Ankaful, Nyinasen, Dankwakrom, Christ Church Anglican School and Hassaniya Islamic School.

Also, the construction of toilet facilities in Gyegyemu, Brofoyedur, Abura, etc, and mechanized boreholes.

“This year, we are looking forward to constructing 12 boreholes”, he said.

According to the MCE, among the accomplished projects in the development plan are well built classroom block in Esuekyir, Basakrom and ST. Nicholas Anglican Basic School.

Similarly, mechanized boreholes in Efutu, Kakumdo, Amissano, Bakaano,Nkafoa, NIB, Amanful and others.

However, they are looking forward to five new projects this year which include Children’s Clinic at Efutu, upgrading Cape Coast Metro Hospital into a regional hospital, construction of ICT Centers and a modernized factory.

He urged Cape Coasters to remain optimistic, stating that there is much more development to come, that the Cape Coast Development Plan should not be politicized.

Hence a collective effort is needed to make Cape Coast a better place.
