AFRANGUA D/A BASIC GETS A SCHOOL LIBRARY

Afrangua D/A Basic School, the only basic school in the Afrangua community today witnessed the commissioning of a library to aid teaching and learning especially boosting the reading habit of the pupils.

 Afrangua D/A Basic School, the only basic school in the Afrangua community today witnessed the commissioning of a library to aid teaching and learning especially boosting the reading habit of the pupils.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Ekow Simpson who doubles as a Blogger and Social Media Influencer used various social media platforms especially YouTube to solicit funds from Africans in the diaspora (Africans living abroad) to construct the library. The event brought Nananom, dignitaries, parents and pupils to witness the official commissioning of the library.

Mr Ekow Simpson explaining  to the media the rationale behind the construction of the library, said its been  a worry as a headteacher seeing the pupils wonder around after school because of lack of a school library and so decided to solicit funds to put up the edifice.

The Ghana Education Services’ Head of Supervision and Monitoring for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, Mr. Emmanuel Tawiah who represented the District Director Of Education commended the Headteacher and his entire staff for bringing into existence that beautiful edifice to boost education in both Afrangua and the district at large.

The Gyaasehen of Abura Afrangua, Nana Dr Barima Boafo I also commended the Headteacher, the staff and all those who contributed to the construction of the Afrangua D/A Basic School library. He advised the users of the library to put the edifice in good shape and ensure proper maintenance works are often done.

Finally, One of the prominent contributors to the construction of the library, Yaa Asantewaa who was officially announced as the Nkosohene of Abura Afrangua Traditional Area with stool name Nana Yaa Asantewaa pending official enstoolment thanked all those who contributed to the construction of the library and also thanked Nananom and the people of Abura Afrangua for the recognition given her.
