Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury signed as Turki Alalshikh makes fight announcement
Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are set to lock horns in the biggest fight in the history of British boxing.
Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury looks set to be signed after Turki Alalshikh’s announcement on social media.
After Fury made easy work of Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month, Alalshikh jumped the gun and attempted to make the fight announcement as he called for Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn to come into the ring.
Neither listened to the request and there ended up being a back and forth verbal joust between the two Brits, with Joshua calling Fury a “clout chaser” and refusing to commit to the fight as he waited for contracts to be signed.
However it appears as though the mammoth bout will be going ahead, with chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Alalshikh claiming it is “happening” in a post on X on Monday.
Although he did not reference the fight, the Saudi government official wrote: “To my friends in Great Britain – it’s happening. It’s signed.”
It is said that will be the biggest fight in British boxing history, which has been a decade in waiting, may take place in November and allow Joshua to have a tune-up fight beforehand.

Fury called out Joshua at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after his routine comeback win Arslanbek Makhmudov and Turki Alalshikh attempted to make the fight announcement there and then.
Sat in the front row, Joshua was not having it though and proceeded to call Fury a “clout chaser” as he waited for the final details of the fight to be ironed out.
But the battle between two of Britain’s greatest heavyweights does appear to be close to getting the green light, with Joshua’s long-time promoter Hearn giving an encouraging update.
Having been involved in a car crash which claimed the lives of his two close friends back in December, Joshua will have a warm-up fight in July before getting it on with Fury on DAZN and Netflix.
Hearn did rule out that warm-up fight being against Jarrell Miller, someone he has a backstory with.
