The Central Citrus Processing Limited, a Private entity operating under the Government Flagship Project 1D1F is set to construct over 2,000 kilometres of rural farm roads across Abura Asebu Kwamankese, Cape Coast North, Assin South, Mfantseman, Ajumako Enyan Essiam and the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Constituencies of the Central Region under a program dubbed “SPECIAL CITRUS ROADS”.
Throwing more light on this laudable Project, A Director of the Company, Mr. Kingsley Kofi Karikari-Bondzie who led a team of technical people to some selected sites said this is to pave way for the transportation of Citrus from the farm gate to the factory site and to help our dear Citrus farmers to have good access roads throughout the catchment areas of the company.
Mr.Karikari-Bondzie further stated our farmers deserve the best across the catchment areas and in due course, more programs including Healthcare and Health Insurance Schemes for the outgrowers would be rolled out.
“Gone are the days that fruits of the labour of our dear Citrus farmers would be left to rot in the farm. The health of our farmers and their citruses are of paramount importance to the CCPL”.
Places visited includes;
Edumfa, Empiro, Musunkwa, Asuantsi, Bisease, Ahemkrom, Pataase, Okyirku, Nyamedom and Kruwa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese and Assin South Districts.
