UndaBeat known in real life as Eric Nana Yaw Nkrumah, a record producer, has revealed that he was only awarded in his region after he was nominated for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
“I was disappointed in the Central Music Awards because I was working hard but they failed to recognize me until I was nominated for the VGMA that they also decided to honour me meanwhile I really deserved the award,” he fumed on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM.
According to the multiple hits beat-maker who comes from the Central Region, he was present at the VGMA ceremony when the fight broke out on stage between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
“In the year 2018 – 19 when Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale had their beef on the stage at the VGMA I was right there because that year I was nominated for Best Instrumentalist of the Year award,” he said in an interview with Amansan Krakye.
“It was Top Skanka which I produced for Stonebwoy and Gringo by Shatta Wale that were competing for the top award at that time when the misunderstanding broke out at the VGMA so I was there,” he added on the Kastle Entertainment Show.
UndaBeat has worked with a lot of artistes in the Ghana music industry such as Yaa Pono, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Ayesem, Strongman, and others since he started in 2014.
