There have been a lot of debate among Christians and churchgoers as to whether those who play musical instruments in church deserve to be paid or not.
Mix Master Garzy, one of the finest beat makers in Ghana who started playing instruments in church at a young age has opined that if pastors are paid then instrumentalists deserve same.
Speaking on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM’s Drive with Amansan Krakye, the record producer was asked whether it’s justifiable for instrumentalists to be paid for doing the work of God.
He answered “As for this issue I think that if the pastors are being paid for doing God’s work then I think the instrumentalists should also be paid for doing same.
“Because the pastor preaches to the congratulation and they’re paid for their services or on monthly basis they’re being sorted out,” he explained.
He explained “Then we also see playing an instrument as a career s at the end of the day I think that the instrumentalist should also be given something to support us in coming to church everyday”.
