How I produced Yaa Pono’s ‘Gbee Nabu’ to brutally diss Shatta Wale – UndaBeat explains

Ghanaian record producer, UndaBeat has explained how he produced one of the biggest diss songs in the history of Ghana music known as 'Gbee Nabu' for Yaa Pono.

Ghanaian record producer, UndaBeat has explained how he produced one of the biggest diss songs in the history of Ghana music known as ‘Gbee Nabu’ for Yaa Pono.

He narrated on Kastle FM in Cape Coast “On the day we recorded Gbee Nabu it was early in the morning when we were eating and we saw that Shatta Wale has posted something on social media and Yaa Pono wanted to react to it.

“I told him he knows how he’ll go about it such that when he disses Shatta it will really hurt him and so he decided to diss him with the Ga language so that it will hurt him the most,” he said on the Kastle Entertainment Show.

UndaBeat told Amansan Krakye “Initially Yaa Pono told me to play a hip-hop beat for him and I said no hip-hop beat won’t be suitable because it won’t get enough airplay but rather he needs a danceable beat so that the song will trend and make Shatta Wale feel hurt when he hears it.

“So I cooked the beat in the studio and called Yaa Pono to spit the punchlines and just after we finished and shared the song within some few minutes instantly the song was everywhere and people started calling Yaa Pono on phone about Gbee Nabu song,” he revealed.

Sound engineer, Unbabeat born Eric Nana Yaw Nkrumah who comes from Mankessim in the Central Region has produced many hit songs including Top Skanka and Sobolo by Stonebwoy.
