“Your rap is bogus if listeners can’t remember the lyrics after 20years” – King Pharaoh of Akatakyie fame

Speaking on the Kastle Drive show in Cape Coast, King Pharaoh said rapping in a song should be catchy enough but not lengthy for people to remember the lyrics and be able to sing along even after 20 to 30 years.

“First of all it’s by the grace of God and secondly it’s the use of wisdom that helped me to write my rap. Some people can sing or rap but you hardly remember even one word in that song and nothing will stick in your mind,” he said.

“As for me King Pharaoh of Akatakyie fame when I’m writing my songs, I do what will make others remember me for a long time,” he continued.

He added “Even after 20 to 30 years you’d still have to remember the lyrics of my rap. So I wasn’t so interested in how lengthy my rap is but rather how others will remember the lyrics and sing along.

“So I applied wisdom, humour and understanding in the arrangements of my rap that’s how come up to now people still remember the lyrics of my rap in the songs that we released,” he ended.
