I’ve been consistent, relevant due to my uniqueness and not being a ‘copycat’ – Opanka brags
‘Eka Aba Fie’ hitmaker, Opanka known in real life as Armstrong Affum has told Amansan Krakye what has kept him consistent and relevant in the music industry for more than a decade.
Speaking on the Kastle Drive show via Cape Coast-based Kastle FM, Opanka said the reason why he’s still active in the music scene is due to his uniqueness as an artiste and not being a ‘copycat’.
“The reason why I’m still in the game is that I didn’t copy anyone or I didn’t just decide to do music because others are also doing it,” he bragged.
He said “There are some people who decide to do music based on the fact that a friend is also doing same but I’m not like that.
He continued “Most people like that weren’t born to do music and it’s not something which is within them but for me it’s a habit and part of my lifestyle.
“Music is part of us and it’s something that I do really enjoy doing that’s why when I feel lonely I use music to talk,” he added.
He told the host “If I want to be happy it’s music and whatever we go through it’s music so naturally it comes out like that and there’s no way I can ever stop doing music”.
