Kumerican drill songs sound ‘one way’ and bound to fail for lack of originality – Ball J
Ghanaian sound engineer, Albert Serebo Ayeh-Hanson aka Ball J has told Amansan Krakye that the Kumerican drill songs sound the same and also lacks originality.
“Even though Hip Hop is forever I think they have to be a little bit original with the drill music by adding some instruments that are African,” Ball J remarked.
He added on Kastle FM “All the boys use the same beats and when you watch TV u see everything one way so there should be a change.
Ball J who is famously popular for being apart of the Azonto music movement said that the Kumerican drill music is bound to fail if it’s not africanized.
“The drill music won’t last long because it lacks originality unlike how we had afro rhythms in azonto,” he revealed on the Kastle Entertainment Show.
“Drill doesn’t have anything afro in it the only thing that was in the drill was the language which was twi and that’s a bit of a disadvantage,” he ended.
