Mempeasem To Experience New Face Of Development Has New Chief Promises Developmental Projects

The decades of Mempeasem hiding in darkness is over as the newly installed chief, Nana Kobi Boafo Fosu III promises to be the new hope and brighter future for the people of Mempeasem in Cape Coast.
Ascending to the throne which has been in dormant for number of years, Nana Kobi Boafo Fosu II who is a well-established woman in private life, is poised to open a new chapter in the lives of her subjects and the community.
During her official coronation, Nana Adwoa Kobi now Nana Kobi Boafo Fosu III called for unity and support from her people, expelling her vision noting that, she will see to it that, the Mempeasem community get new hospital which will cater for her people and also serve surrounding communities.
She noted that, it is disheartening to see pregnant women traveling from the community to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for antenatal and other health services which sometimes result in an unfortunate situation hence the need for the hospital.
The community which is enriched in vegetation cover has been stride in poverty due to lack of proper developmental projects thereby pushing most of the youths from the community to seek greener pastures.
With new development coming into the community, Nana Kobi Boafo Fosu III believes with the support from the people, Mempeasem can turn a new face which might attract investors to come in and invest in their many arable lands which might create employment opportunities for the teaming youths of the community.
The occasion saw displays of culture diversity which clawed with deep historic moment once again written in the history Cape Coast traditional council.
Dignitaries ranging from Chief from Cape Coast traditional area and beyond, member of parliament for Cape Coast North, the metropolitan Chief Executive of Cape Coast Metropolis, the Clergy, the media, school children and people from all walks of life graced the coronation making it colorful and historic moment for the Chief, elders and the entire community of Mempeasem.
Meanwhile the MCE of Cape Coast metropolis Hon. George Justice Arthur speaking as a special guest of honour for the occasion expressed his readiness to collaborate with the new chief to foster development.
He further noted that, his office has not abandoned the much-anticipated ultra-modern auto tech village project which aims to relocate garages from the Siwdu area to Mempeasem, creating a more organized and environmentally friendly space for artisans and auto businesses.
He stressed that, he would look to it, all the facilities needed for the site to pave way for the artisans will be provided so that they will move to the area to expand business opportunities and also the economy of the people of Mempeasem and Cape Coast as a whole.
The Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly is spearheading the relocation of garages from Siwdu to Mempeasem to address environmental concerns related to the discharge of oil and other waste into the Fosu Lagoon.
The new location at Mempeasem will be developed into an auto tech village, providing a modern and well-equipped space for various automotive trades.
