Ghanaian artiste, Derrick Osei Kuffour Prempeh known in showbiz as Kofi Jamar has revealed why he got no nominations in the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

“I didn’t fall in the category of the VGMA in this year’s calendar because of how I released the songs but I don’t think it is a problem to me,” he remarked.

“I just keep on releasing my songs and following my plan that I set for myself in the music industry,” he stated in an interview on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM.

According to Kofi Jamar who got 7 nominations in the 2021 VGMA with ‘Ekorso’ hit song, his ambition for doing music and releasing songs isn’t just about winning awards.

He continued on the Kastle Drive Show “I think the whole of last year I released just one song and later getting to December I released my ‘Appetite for Destruction’ EP.

“I feel that I wasn’t doing my music in terms of awards around that time, I’m just doing my music and following my plan,” Kofi Jamar revealed to Amansan Krakye.
