The communities of Nkrotrodo and Siwim, all suburbs within the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality in the Central Region, have celebrated a significant milestone in their developmental journey with a sod cutting ceremony for the construction of a 2-unit KG classroom block with ancillary facilities and a Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound respectively.
In view of this, a colorful sod cutting ceremony was arranged on Friday, November 14, 2025, which saw the presence of revered personalities like the KEEA MCE, community leaders, residents, and other government officials.
The ceremony marks the beginning of the construction of these vital infrastructure projects which promises great benefit to these communities.
Hon. Ismail Zagoon Saeed, the MCE for KEEA, in his address at the ceremony, observed that the sod cutting event isn’t merely about turning soil, but about turning hopes into reality, which signals the Assembly’s collective determination to bring quality healthcare and top level education close to its people.
The Simiw CHPS Compound facility is intended to bridge the gap in healthcare delivery, bringing quality medical care closer to home, having had the MCE emphasize the importance of such project in ensuring inclusive development, as it will provide essential healthcare services to residents, including maternal and child healthcare, outpatient services, laboratory testing and emergency care.
According to the MCE, these projects are expected for completion within six months.
The KEEA Municipal Health Director, Mr. Martin Danko, assured his directorate’s readiness to assign health professionals for the effective delivery of service at the CHPS Compound facility upon completion of the project.
Construction of the 2-unit KG classroom block with ancillary facilities at Nkrotrodo is also expected to provide a conducive learning environment for students and teachers within the area, since overcrowding has become a significant challenge in many schools within the municipality, as this facility is billed to help alleviate this issue.
