Set-up a fund to support unemployed youth to venture into farming – President Akufo-Addo told

The government of Ghana has been told to set-up a fund to support the unemployed youth to venture into agriculture to boost the economy.

The government of Ghana has been told to set-up a fund to support the unemployed youth to venture into agriculture to boost the economy.

This was part of the suggestions made by the 2021 Central Regional Best Farmer, Awudu Issaka when he was asked to deliver his pressing needs to the authorities.

“I’m suggesting that government should set-up a fund to push the youth so that all of them can get involved in farming for the nation to develop for us to get food in abundance,” he opined.

He added “Besides government should support the youth with funds because farming involves a lot of money and if you are not financially sound you won’t progress.

Speaking on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM in an interview with Amansan Krakye, Awudu Issaka said the government must help in building cold stores to curtail the wastage of perishables.

“Storage room or cold stores are one of the most important things I will plead with the government to help us with to avoid our produce getting spoilt,” he asked.

The Adisadel College Park in Cape Coast hosted the 2021 National Farmer’s Day with President Akufo-Addo climaxing the day to decorate the Best Farmer.
