The captain of the black stars of Ghana, Andre Dede Ayew has praised coach CK Akunnor for the role he played in the stars qualification for the Playoffs.
Coach CK Akunnor led the team in the first two games of the qualifiers, winning one and losing one. Akunnor’s side won their first game against Ethiopia and went on to lose against South Africa in the second game. But Captain Andre Ayew believes the coach played a huge role in the stars qualification for the playoffs.
“I would also like to say a word for our former coach CK Akunnor. We started this with him so we got here and we have qualified.”
Andre Ayew also stated emphatically that despite all the challenges CK Akunnor encountered during the world cup qualifiers, Ghanaians should also remember that CK qualified the team to the Afcon 2021 to be staged next year January 2022 in Cameroon.
“We shouldn’t also forget the work he’s done because we are going to play in the AFCON and he’s the one who took us to the AFCON so I give him a hi and a big thank you.”
The black stars of Ghana have now qualified for the playoffs of the world cup qualifiers after defeating South Africa in the final group game.
