The match officials decided the game – CAF and FIFA must investigate!
The South African Football Association has decided to write to both CAF and FIFA to report and also challenge some of the decisions that were taken by the officiating officials who handled their world cup qualifier match against the Black Stars of Ghana.
The Bafana Bafana of South Africa played the black stars of Ghana in the final round of the world cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast stadium on Sunday 14th November with the game resulting in 1-0 in favor of the black stars.
Captain Andre Ayew scored from a spot-kick after defender Daniel Amartey was brought down by an opponent player in a manner of which seems to be soft in the eyes of the South Africans.
The South African Football Association in a meeting after the game has decided to take the issue on demanding that further investigations must be conducted.
The CEO of the Association in an interview with the media after the game revealed the decision taken by the Association.
“Yes I think from our hearts is just to say that the match officials have decided the game which is not supposed to happen.”
“So we as an association have decided that we will be writing to both CAF and FIFA, first to investigate how the game was handled and secondly to also challenge some of the decisions.”
South Africa has failed to qualify for the world in their third attempt since hosting the tournament in 2010.
