NPP presidential hopeful Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has vowed to modernize the party if he wins the flagbearership race.
The former Trade and Industry Minister made a suggestion about creating organizations that can raise money to pay party officials, so they may focus on their obligations to the party.
Hon. Alan Kyeremanten, who has held the position of trade and industry for more than 10 years throughout both the Kufuor and Akufo-Addo regimes, announced that he would establish a pension plan for party officials who had dedicated their entire lives to serving it.
The commerce and industry expert did not hold back when emphasizing the need for sponsoring party projects and inspired party delegates to vote for him when the time come because he is the one to change the face of the party.
“There must be a platform and programmes for party financing. I have the record to have set up the Constituency Business Ventures in the past, that is your way to strengthening the party”, the presidential hopeful said.
The seasoned politician proposed a pay system for party executives at the constituency and national levels that will allow them to focus on party issues.
In order to inspire others, he also proposed a pension plan for dedicated, full-time party officials.
“Full-time party executives must be on full salary to enable them to devote more attention to party work, he emphasized with a strong passion.
“There will be a pension scheme to retired party executives who devote all their time to working for the NPP”, the former Trade and Industry Minister concluded.
“The focus should be on the party because it is the party that brings the government into power,” Alan Kyerematen said.
Mr. Kyeremanten made these comments when he visited Kastle 90.3Fm in Cape Coast for an interview during his tour in the Central region.
When asked about his plans for the party and the transformational system he will put in place by the host Akua Agyekumwah , he mentioned that before he can lead the nation as a president, the concerns of the party must be at heart hence his decision to change the narrative by introducing something new to benefit the party and also to boost the loyalty and commitment of the party members from all ranks.
He further mentioned that, from all indications, the party is ready for him to lead in the next upcoming elections and he is hopeful that, the will of God will be revealed during the selection process, he emphasized when answering about the response from the delegates when he announced his presence in the region.
