Roy X Taylor born Deroy Ekow Taylor who is currently promoting his Taylor Made EP revealed on Kastle FM that he has sampled most of his father’s melodies on his current project.
Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye on the Kastle Entertainment Show, Roy X Taylor said the move to sample his father’s melodies is to protect and sustain his legacy.
“Taylor Made EP basically is all centred around Ebo Taylor’s melodies to keep his legacy,” he told the host.
He revealed “From the 80’s to the 90’s most of his songs have been sampled by me on my current extended play.
“One is my love and my music and I call it money, boss was derived from nsu na nkwa from my daddy’s song as well as Love and death,” he added.
Ebo Taylor born on January 6, 1936 is a Legendary Ghanaian guitarist, composer, bandleader, record producer and arranger focusing on Highlife and Afrobeats music.
Ebo Taylor has been a pivotal figure on the Ghanaian music scene for over six decades. He collaborated with Nigerian Afrobeat star Fela Kuti and other African musicians in 1962 at London.
