Singing afrobeats and sounding like Nigerian artistes not wrong – Ghanaian R&B singer Camidoh

Ghanaian R&B singer, Camidoh has stated that it is not wrong for the new crop of artistes to sing afrobeats and sound like Nigerian artistes.

Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM, Camidoh was asked if it’s true that most of the new crop of artistes in Ghana sing and sound like Nigerian artistes.

He answered “I don’t think that it’s wrong if the new crop of artistes are drawing inspiration from Nigerian afrobeats and making music that will cut across the world.

“The world is opened now and people in North America are able to listen to somebody in Southern Volta in Ghana so let’s not limit ourselves,” he said on the Kastle Entertainment Show.

According to Raphael Kofi Attachie known in showbiz as Camidoh, learning from their Nigerian counterparts will help them to do songs that will get global appeal.

“Let’s open our ears and our minds to learn from other people because that’s the only way we can grow as artistes to be heard globally,” he concluded.
