Without formidable organisation Black Stars can’t win AFCON even with $100M – Obiri Boahen

Nana Obiri Boahen, the Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said on Kastle FM that without formidable organisation it will be impossible for the Black Stars to win the African Cup even when given $100M.

“The question is we can even give $100M dollars for the Black Stars but if we don’t organize ourselves well we won’t win the African cup,” he told Amansan Krakye in Cape Coast.

“They can give us $200M but if the organization is not well done nothing will come out of. Because winning the African cup is mostly depends on formidable organisation,” he revealed.

Not long ago, Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo approved a $25M for the Black Stars participation in the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and 2022 World Cup qualifying campaigns.

Obiri Boahen added “So if we get dedicated and committed players and do away with this player is my favorite and we want this player to get exposure at the national team we can win.

“That’s why most African countries hire the services of foreign coaches but they’re not superior to our local ones but the idea or perception about our local coaches,” he continued.

“So we can even make the amount $300M but if the organization is not well done and well packaged we will go to the African cup and come back empty handed,” he advised.

He ended “Just like President Akufo-Addo said people must come onboard to help but all those donors are all looking out for one thing which is transparency”.
