In the last couple of weeks, Black Sherif has been in the news following the release of his song ‘1st Sermon’. His streaming has incredibly shot up as his audience appeal keeps soaring.
The likes of Hammer of The Last Two Music Group, Reggie Rockstone and Sarkodie, among other prominent showbiz personalities, have been blown away by the talent exhibited by the artiste.
In an interview with Amansan Krakye on the Kastle Entertainment Show via Kastle FM in Cape Coast, Black Sherif was asked by the host to reveal the meaning behind his stage name.
He answered “So I wanted a stage name and I didn’t want to choose a name that when I go for interviews I would find it difficult to explain myself.
“So Sherif means high born or noble or famous in the Islamic religion whilst black is my race that’s the African race so Black Sherif means high born African,” he revealed.
Known in real life as Mohammed Ismail Sherif, the musician is a product of Kumasi Academy (KUMACA). He is currently studying Marketing at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
