Kaakyire Kwame Appiah finally reveals why he decided to do songs for Christmas celebrations

Veteran Highlife musician, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has revealed to Kastle FM in an exclusive interview with Amansan Krakye why some years ago he mostly did songs that can be played during Christmas celebrations.

“Those days what I saw was that everyone was doing love songs, funeral songs then I decided that why don’t I try something different so that I can get listeners or fans,” he told the host of the Kastle Drive show.

“Trust me when I decided to do Christmas songs, even the other Highlife songs I did until you mention my name that this track is from Kaakyire Kwame Appiah most people don’t know,” he added.

Kaakyire Kwame Appiah who is famously known for producing Christmas songs such as ’24th’ and ‘Yeekodi’ said that most people don’t even remember him for the other love songs he did but rather the ones he did for Christmas celebrations.

He continued “What they know about me is bronya songs and all that but I have a lot of songs like soloku, sholele, kwadonto, and other great songs which aren’t songs for Christmas.

“So I decided that being a Christian I would do songs that can be used to celebrate Christmas and also do songs for Salah celebration for our Muslim brothers,” he ended.
