Mfantsiman Girls' Senior High School is an all-girls second cycle institution in Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana. The school was founded in 1960 by Kwame Nkrumah, originally under the name Saltpond Girls' Secondary School.

Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School is an all-girls second cycle institution in Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana. The school was founded in 1960 by Kwame Nkrumah, originally under the name Saltpond Girls’ Secondary School.
The motto of the school is ‘Obra Nye Woarbo’ to wit ‘Life is what you make it.
At it 63rd speech and price giving day at the school premises under the theme repositioning Mfantsiman Girls for academic excellence, the role of stakeholders, the deputy minister for education and also MP for Assin South constituency Hon. John Ntim Fordjour touted the achievements made by the school in the last 63years in it existence and many formation the school have been through to date.
Speaking at the 63rd speech and prize giving day, the deputy minister noted that, most of the talented women leading some prominent positions in the country had their education from the school and they have been trained to become bold and courageous, fearless and they have held very high the flag of Mfantsiman girls’ school.
He thanked all the stakeholders who have in diverse ways supported the school to achieve its status it has achieved today including the old student association and the member of parliament for her numerous supports for the school.
The minister stressed that, Mfantsiman girls is one of the highest performing girls’ schools not only performing academically and non-academically in the Central region but the nation as a whole noting that, all the awards and loreals won attest to the excellent tradition that pertains at the school due to the hard work of the teaching staff and non-teaching staff of the school.
He noted that, many are the high-flying achievement of the school for the past 63years but stressed that, the best of the achievements are ahead of the school therefore a time has come for the school to rise up to the challenge in repositioning Mfantsiman Girls as a place for girls and reposition for academic excellence.
He added that, a time has come to know that, the girl child is good in the kitchen, is good as a good wife, is good as a good mother but even much better in the board room and even much better in parliament, much better at the table of men and even much better to go to space adding that, time has come for redefined what the girl child stands for.
He charged the young girls to rise up to the ceiling and defy the status core and will not be boost in the tradition stereo typed.
He further charged them to put all the investment the government has put in place to make education easily accessible and also in the girl child education is to ensure that, we have empowered society and encouraged the students to apply themselves to excellence, discipline, innovation and to realize that in the next twenty or few year more, they will be back at the school with their heads up.
He noted that, the vision of the current government to introduce free SHS is to remove systemic and economic barriers in education which bedevilled the country some years back and charged Ghanaians to be thankful to the Nana Addo led government game changing policy he introduced since taking charge of governance which is the free SHS which has made it possible for the poor and the rich to have good and equal opportunities in school.
He there charged the young girls to seize the opportunity of government investment in education to attain the highest they want to get.
