Cape Coast-based musician discloses intentions to contest for MP in 2024

Even before Member of Parliament (MP)-Elect for Cape Coast South, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan starts his third term as MP for the constituency, talented musician, Orkortor Perry has disclosed his intentions to contest for the seat in 2024.

Orkortor Perry born George Perry Atta-Mensah who is a card-bearing member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said that Hon. Kweku Ricketts made it known that he won’t contest for the seat again after his third term which will end in 2024.

In an exclusive interview with Amansan Krakye on Kastle FM, Orkortor Perry said that his parliamentary declaration for 2024 should not be seen as too early and overly ambitious.

He remarked “Sometimes people talk too much on social media but there is a local adage which says that when you set off early, you’d surely arrive on time.

“When Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan came for the parliamentary primaries he made us away that this would be his final contest. So you can attest to the efforts I put into the campaign to get him elected,” he said on Kastle Drive.

Orkortor Perry told Amansan Krakye that “I left all that I was doing to wholeheartedly without taking any dime from him to work with my strength, my capacity including incurring financial commitments.

“I really help him to campaign and lo and behold God also helped him to win the seat. So if you prepare early it would even help some people to contribute towards my ambition so that everything would work accordingly,” he concluded.
