Don’t think that SHS is now free so you’ll take it for granted – Wife of late Kwansa Hayford
Mrs Ophelia Mensah Hayford, the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region has advised the youth not to take the free SHS they’re enjoying for granted.
She made this clarion call to the youth and parents during the inauguration ceremony of Kobina Ansa Senior High School as the community-owned school has now been absorbed by government.
Mrs Ophelia Mensah Hayford disclosed in her speech which was listened by Kastle FM correspondent Amansan Krakye that some people sometimes don’t attach seriousness to things that are free but advised the free SHS beneficiaries to study hard.
She remarked “The youth must not take their studies and education for granted because schools are now closer to you more than before. Now just like you know Senior High education is free so even when your parents don’t give you money you will still be given food for free.
“You’re no more going to pay school fees so yours is to study hard. However, we shouldn’t say it’s free so we won’t attach any seriousness to our education. We must do our best to learn in order to achieve what we desire to happen in our lives.”
Mrs Ophelia Mensah Hayford who replaced her murdered husband, the late Ekow Kwansa Hayford as Parliamentary Candidate for the Mfantseman Constituency is currently canvassing for votes as the December 2020 elections draw closer.
