FC Zurich manager Bo Henriksen has lauded Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s character in the dressing room after the forward’s first goals for the club over the weekend.

Barnieh scored a brace on Saturday night as Zurich recorded a 3-0 win over Lugano in the Swiss Super League. His goals came in his third start for the club after being named in the starting lineup in the previous two games.

Having enjoyed a slow start to life in Switzerland, the Ghanaian finally seems to be settling after an impressive pre-season after the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he played for the Black Meteors.

With the player now enjoying life with Zurich, his manager has also praised the player’s personality.

“I know few people who laugh as much as he does. Daniel is always happy, which makes him an exceptional person in the dressing room,” he said following the victory over Lugano.

Barnieh will be hoping to add to his goals in subsequent games as the season continues.
