KASTLE FOUNDATION IN COLLABORATION WITH KASTLE FM DONATES TO EGYAM CHILDREN’S HOME.

Kastle Foundation and Kastle FM, situated in the Central Region in Cape Coast has donated some items to the Egyam Children’s home in the western region on Saturday, 11th March.

Kastle Foundation and Kastle FM, situated in the Central Region in Cape Coast has donated some items to the Egyam Children’s home in the western region on Saturday, 11th March.
Some items donated includes clothes, soft drinks, mattress, cooking oils, rice and toiletries amounting thousands of Ghana cedis.
In welcoming the staff from Kastle FM, Sister Mary Gladys Boakye, who is the director of the children’s home told the brain behind the children’s home and it’s time of birth.
Given a brief history on how the orphanage started, “Madam Thea who founded the orphanage used to come to Egyam Groto every day and on one of her visits, she came across some malnutrition kids. When she asked and they said most of them were orphans, Thea was touch and she added this to her intentions and God asked her to come up with this. The project started in 2004 and was registered as an NGO on 19th October, 2005.”
Sister Mary mentioned the current number of children at the orphanage and the progress they have made on the educational ladder. She said, the children’s home had more than 130 children with some completing various tertiary institutions and 18 are in the Senior Secondary School. She stated that the current resident children are 40.
On the financial level of the home, Sister Mary made known to Kastle FM that sustainable measures were put in place to draw revenue for the home. The orphanage now has it own water sachet production plant which is yet to be operationalized. She later took the crew to see the progress that had been made so far.
She mentioned how talented these children were and how much the support from others and sponsors would be of help.
Sister Mary finally thanked the staff from Kastle FM and the donors who contributed and appealed for support from institutions and benevolent individuals to support the children’s home in financial or in any other means.
